So.....

people have been getting a hold of copies of Super Smash Bros Brawl. I dont mean a few days before, I found out last night. It seems Sears has jumped the gun on one of the biggest titles of the year. Some have even shipped the games to people, and although there is only one photo in existence of said copy, I decided to do a little digging of my own and see if it was the real thing.

Fired up GIMP and took a look at the picture to see if it was photo-shopped in any way, and no matter what I did to it...the picture stayed the same, no little jagged rectangles usually associated with created images from scratch.

Here

Is the image in question and some external links inside to the Forums where the image was originally found. Calling all the Sears stores within a 90 mile radius of me, I find the last store on my list, and I reach their customer service line first then am transfered to their electronics depot. I ask if they have the game in and this was her response: "Sorry, we are out of stock."

Basically....I envy those people who got their mitts on an early copy of Brawl. But that will not stop me from entering the tournament held at Gamestop for Super Smash Bros Brawl.

Still here.

Well, I am still here at my siblings house. I don't really mind it much, since they are good company; but what got me was my father became sicker than a dog. Now they have another little dog running about, to keep Roxy company which I think is a good thing. I have no idea when or what time we will be leaving tomorrow, but I like driving; no matter what time I am leaving, either in the morning or in the evening.

I was walking around this town earlier today and something big dawned on me: These cities are almost perfect for a Anime Convention. let me explain: I found the convention center and found two hotels right close to each other right around the Convention center. Right by those, are lots of places to eat and a Joanns Fabrics store. I can say with confidence: This is prime location for a Anime Convention.

ROAD TRIP!!!!1

Yes. I took a road trip. ^_^ I love driving, I don't know what it is about it, but seeing whats around the corner or over that hill, I love it. Today, about 12 hours ago, I went to my younger siblings house up here in Kennewick, WA. I drove their car up there, and it pulled to the right really bad...Like I could let go of the wheel and it would turn the rest of it.

Kennewick is an interesting place, its just on the other side of the Columbia across from Oregon, and its a moderately good sized city, with two others surrounding it, calling it the Tri-Cities. I wonder what my life could have been like if I moved out here, I don't really know of the job situation; but thats always a dynamic that changes all the time. Some times I wonder if I made the right choice to stay in Oregon, rather than going to Washington with my sibling.

In other news that somewhat important to me, Apollo Justice and the new season of Dragon Ball Z came out this past Tuesday, and I have some money to go and buy them! The only question is: Buy them in Oregon or Washington? I know there are taxes in Washington, but it would be nice to get them now before they leave the stores...

Internet Radio...

One of the things I am very grateful for. Because I really dont like listening to Country music all the time, everyday. There are a few songs that are ok, but the majority of them are...not to my taste. They just dont work in my head and I cant listen to them while Im alone or not doing anything. Truth be told, I would much rather listen to Classical. Its good when your working, it help my brain work.

Thinking about Portals...and other things.

Music: Streaming Star 102.3
Artists: Various

I've been thinking about how a Portal would really work. The few things I can come up, would be like a 'matter pusher' which would rip a wormhole in the matter and open the way through to the other side of the portal. That would be the easiest thing to start with, the other idea I had would be a release of anti-matter with a barrier of some kind to stop it from spreading, consuming the surrounding matter. Those would be some of the things that could make a portal, though sustaining it for periods of time...I have no clue.

Anyway, on to other things at hand. I am back in Florence for the week since I still do not have a job... its tough and now my father has put lots more to think about for my career...is it wrong that I am 22 almost 23 and still unsure about my major? I mean...the coolest job ever I think would be a voice actor in Anime. Sure the pay is not great; but the reward is tremendous...I mean, imagine this: after you are all done recording, you see your name in the closing credits. That would be the pinnacle of cool!

Bored...Wish I had a Portal gun...

Out of my MIND. I am currently in Flo-town being with my dad waiting for tomorrow to come so I can go to work and make some money. Also is computer is malfunctioning so I have that going for me as well...wait. We might have it working now. I dont have a clue yet, but I had the same trouble with my system about a year ago and I got it resolved without a hitch...But still I have no idea. Its hard being away from all my cool AMVs and songs and things....OH!

There is something AWESOME that happened. I finally got to play Portal.

^__^ and I LOVED it. The entire game is amazing, although its relatively short, its still the most amazing game ever made to date. That is a big statement coming from me, a long-time Nintendo fanboy, the dialog is absolutely hilarious. When you play it, I recommend you turn on the subtitles to catch everything. The mechanics of the game are perfected to an absolute god-like state. The concept is you have a gun that can make two 'portals' on two surfaces and can enter in and out of either of them. From there, you learn about all kinds of things you can do with the portals...I recommend this game to everyone who is even remotely interested in puzzle games.

Addendum: We finally got everything working now. I have internet, hes got VOIP back and all is right with the world.

Kumoricon Winter Masquerade

Artist: GLaDOS and Jonathan Coulton
Song: Still Alive

I attended the dance last night and I have to say I had a good time. I met up with other Otaku, who mostly resided in Portland/Milwaukee area. I danced, and taught the wrong way to do the box step. Least to say, it was worth the hour and a half drive to see all those people dance around. I made friends and we talked about everything under the Otaku sun: icanhascheezeburger, Something Awful and Anime in general, and one girls went on and on about fanfiction, which I occasionally write but seeing her enthusiasm is empowering. I will run around and find pictures of the formal event, though it might take me a while to get to them, lots of people got their photo taken and hopefully they will put them online.

All and all, I had a great time, lots of people showed up and the Kumoricon staff was almost overwhelmed, as is per usual with most Kumoricon events.
