UPDATE?

Hello everyone, its time for a *GASP* update! So Sonic the Hedgehog 4 came out....which I dont have, and I also sold my PS3, PSP and some Anime. I feel a little more 'grown up' now that I dont have that many things draining my time now. Except for my iPhone....

The story goes like this: you know I have an iPhone, and have been using it for a while, but every so often the bars on the signal drop to nothing and then a nice little pop up appears and says "No SIM card installed" HUH?! The first time that happened to me, I thought I got a defective phone, but I restarted my phone and it didnt happen again for a while. Now every about month or so it will do that, but over the past week, my phone did it again. It wasnt a little blip like usual, I had to restart my phone THREE times to get the message to go away and have it actually connect to my wireless carrier! Three times! I am kind of frustrated with it, I mean...if I were to get a life changing call with my phone being wonky, I would never get it!

Im doing the whole restore thing for my iPhone and getting the latest software update for it, but I am not sure if its going to fix the problem already on there ya know? Oh! And there is another problem with it too! The vibrate switch has come off...so now I cant switch my phone to vibrate and have me be sneaky with it at work, since it announces every little touch...So here is my Master Plan:

Take the phone to an Apple Store and see what they can do about the SIM card issue, and the vibrate switch. The iPhone 3G is a little older now and my idea is this: see if I can get a 3GS on the cheap since I bought one a long time ago, but its falling apart...

I hope my Master Plan goes well, but I have to get in touch with the Apple Store and their Genius Bar and see what they can do...Other than that, my life is going pretty well, Im still with my girlfriend, and working and yada yada... Anyway, just making an update for all you peoples, and have gotten interested in the History of Google. Honestly when the Internet first started out I was using....Alta Vista....

OMG

I know, almost a daily update, it's scary I know, I hope you'll get accustom to it. Anyway, not much to report from my end, but I'll make a post anyhow.

The strangest thing happens when you are wearing one earbud and listening to music: your mind fills in the left or right blank in the song...it's crazy. It's like reading words all messed up, only for music.

Anyway, I'm here at my job on my break making a post....it's cool. I'm getting a decent wage here unlike a giant orange box that will remain nameless.

Now I'm not listening to the music on my iPhone, I find I only get 8 hours of music and by the time I get home it's pretty much dead, so I'm afraid my battery is going....but I would like to get a hold of an older iPod to play music on, so I'm not relying on my Girlfriend all the time.

The iPhone solution works for about a year or so and then the battery dies after extended use. It makes me sad, but I know now not to use my iPhone for road trips unless I have a way of charging it, but at the moment my cig lighter shorted or something so I can't charge it in my car...

Anywho, I gotta head back to my job, I'll talk to you all later

Day 5

Well. They said the smoke from the BC fires would have been gone by now, but it's still hanging around. It makes our fair city look like some of the bigger cities, complete with daily smog. Only ours stinks like trees and not like cars.

All right people the rumor-mill is true: I left my Home Depot job for something a little more stable. Like 8-5 mon-fri stable. Only thing is that it's through a staffing company, so I have no idea what happens after 3 months.

Anyway, I am flat broke at this moment in time, but I did manage to get a movie in, so it also happens to be Review time! Our new movie that I saw recently was Scott Pilgrim VS. The World.

Now for any Otaku or Video Game fans, this is the movie for you, especially if you're familiar with video game sounds. Lots of memorable tunes occasionally pop up in the movie and it's about the most visually cool movie I've seen in a long time. Better yet, it's based off a Manga that was written in Canada and the entire thing takes place in Toronto.

Our slacker of a hero Scott Pilgrim went between girls all the time and never really thought about what he was doing until he met Ramona Flowers, who changes Scott's world. Especially when he must fight the League of Evil Exs in order to be with Ramona.

Lots of funny comedy scenes along with some really action packed fight sequences. If you see only one movie this summer, make it Scott Pilgrim VS. The World

180th post....and it will...

BLOW YOUR MIND.

Dont believe me? Well keep reading, ill tell you how iTunes is the best tool for transferring music. We all know that we simply cant take music bought from one PC and put it on another without it telling us that we didnt make the purchase, therefore we cant play it. This is where it gets interesting, because I have found a work-around within iTunes that allows this pesky problem disappear.

First off, we will need a computer with iTunes and a DVD-burner. I used iTunes version 9.1.1.12 for this and it worked just fine. Any computer with a DVD-burner will work, as I transfered the music on DVD. Anyway, the steps follow like this, and i'll have pictures for this as we go along. Ready? Here we go:

Step one:

Head down to the option to burn the entire playlist to a disk, then it will pop up a different little box.

Step two:

The next step is to select the DVD radio button, as this will allow pretty much all of your music to be burnt to the disk. After you click OK, it will open the drive and start writing the disk with all your music.

Step three:
On the destination computer, the place where you want your music, go into Edit and under Preferences youll see this screen:
From there, go into the Import Settings:
Turn it to the MP3 setting like shown in the picture, you can adjust the quality if you want, but I leave mine pretty low because less file size = more music.

step four:
now when you pop in the DVD into your destination computer, a box like this usually pop up:
Open all the files and make a new folder and copy all of the music from the DVD into that folder. Next open iTunes and go into File->Add Folder to Library

From there, all your music will be in iTunes famous AAC codec and wont be able to play on anything else other than iPods, iPhones, or iPads. This is where the work-around happens. From there, highlight all of your new music and head to Advanced and it should look like this picture:

Convert the entire batch and PRESTO! you have MP3 versions of your bought iTunes Purchased playlist. Meaning you can now put them onto non branded Apple devices.

In all honesty, I found this work-around tonight while trying to find a way to put different ringtones onto my girlfriends iPhone. I didnt think something like this would work, but it did. I have all of her purchased music on my computer listening to it right now.

Well, I think that will do it for me tonight guys, and if I get taken down by Apple, then who knows where this little blog might wind up, but thats the beauty of the Internet right? Something goes down, and it springs backup again. Anyway, take care everyone.

UGH

They said it was only going to rain, which I really wasnt OK with in the first place, and then what happens? Why it SNOWS. Yes, its currently snowing outside my window. And its sticking to the ground. I am very confused, previously when i have lived here in the Great North I am used to sunny weather for April. Not so.

Uh...yeah. More posting though! OH! I actually have a Mental Note for you all! Remember that PS3 games are meant for a BIG screen. I have recently came across a smaller tv to use for my gaming purposes and Ive got to say...it looks really tiny, I can hardly read some of the text in the games I play...Oh well.

Post?

Yes! I am here and I make posts! Imagine that! Anyway, for all those curious out there, no I have not found a job, but Home Depot is treating me a little better. There are some major things that annoy me sometimes, some days, but its an all-right place to work. Other than the really early mornings, I have to be at work at 4AM so I usually have to be in bed by 8 or so. Its kind of sad, I go to bed when the sun is still shining though the window here in the Great North, but I deal with it.

Things are going pretty well, my girlfriend is also looking for a new job, and we occasionally go on the hunt for jobs, but its slim pickings out there, I know. Well, I dont really know what to post here, but meh, I might as well post something right?

I have not had many Mental Notes at all lately. Its my girlfriend who usually winds up reminding me about something and I seem to remember the smallest detail yet cannot remember the big picture at all. Oh well, I imagine its one of my shortcomings. Also I think I know what Im going to do for the rest of my life!

I will be a radio broadcaster. AKA a Radio DJ. Exciting right? Im really pumped op for it, but I gotta buckle down and get things started, but its a two year course if im not mistaken, but im not too sure. Anyway, just getting you all up to speed. Oh and another thing ive been thinking, would you guys listen to a podcast? Ive got a really decent microphone here and im not entirely sure what Id talk about but, I guess thats the charm of Mental Notes. Let me know in the comments what you think.

New Look!

Hey everybody! Hows life? Mine is actually going pretty well! Im broke but im in love so its ok! But really, I am broke and its all right. I love my girlfriend and we make it through hard times. By hard times I mean ive got to look for another job. Yep, the Home Depot is not doing it for me anymore, they are going to be cutting my hours so I need something to support myself.

But enough of the downer stuff eh? Anyway, I know i promised people that something would appear on Youtube. I havent forgotten what I said and im still working on it. I realize now that I need to record my voice afterwards or if I get a better computer which...Wont happen for a while, not until I have some money.

Anyway, like the new look of the ol blog? I crafted it together with the new Designer template thingy from blogger here and its really easy to have something like this pop out. I personally like my blog so much more that I gave it a facelift. Also, I realize Im posting much more to Facebook than here, but ive got a little interaction between the two of them, well they both post to each other! Its clever if i say so myself.

Im downing a can of Rockstar Cola at the minute and Ive got to say...its pretty tasty. Its not Coke or Pepsi, and I think thats the best part...and also that it gives me energy. Anywho, I just wanted to keep you guys in the loop so you dont feel so cold and distant.

Movie Review: Alice in Wonderland

Hello everyone! Im back with a new review for movies! its been forever since ive done this, but bear with me for a little bit.

So. Alice in Wonderland. I thought it was a good show, an interesting twist on the original story of Lewis Carol's work. The imagery and acting was superb, with Johnny Depp stealing the show at some points, the others played their roles well, especially Alice, who I liked best out of the bunch. Interesting directions with the art and sets and the COSTUMES! I really liked the costumes, especially for the Red Queen. Having her head a little bigger than a standard size really came to play later in the movie, but all in all, I thought it was a great movie.

So thats for Alice in Wonderland. I would go see it again just to see if i could catch anything I missed from the first time.

Boogies Burgers

ive always heard of a better burger place than Peters. At first I didnt pay any mind to it, thinking it was only a few people who thought so, and then it started to gnaw on my brain that there could be something better than Peters.

Well, I finally decided to go there, and I grabbed my girlfriend and we went. The atmosphere is like a old 50s diner but its more updated and a little more modern. They even have a 'Peter Swear' jar. Every time you say the P word, you pay a quarter. I laughed and was going to have one of their burgers, but something caught my eye, it was called National Lampoons Hawaiian Vacation. basically its teriyaki chicken, grilled pineapple lettuce and tomato. It was really tasty and I plan on going back and officially trying one of their burgers. So this is kind of a partial review of Boogies and so far...

I LOVE IT. They even have a scary burger called Dont Fear the Reaper. Its 4 burger patties, bacon, swiss and cheddar cheese, and egg. it makes me shiver in fright but at the same time I cant help but think how tasty it would be...anyway, expect something else from me here too.

oh HEY!

Long time no post eh?

Well....lots of stuff has been happening in my life lately, like getting a job! it makes me excited to get it, ive been there for about a month now, and its going pretty well for me. Another exciting thing is that...I bought a CAR! Yep I have a set of wheels to call my own, and truth be told, I should be driving it around way more often than i do.

However, i was tossed into a little debt after that purchase, so i owe some people money which is why im working like crazy. Tying to get some overtime from the boss people to help pay off my car but it runs like a dream.

I traveled to Oregon and back with the car and it ran very nicely, albeit a bit colder than the previous cars ive driven, but its ok.

The big announcement? it was supposed to be a video of me playing a game and doing commentary on it, but I think im going to have to make it post-video to get it up there, so I can watch it as it happens and get it out there. Anyway that was the big thing, but other things quickly got in the way.

Also ive had my iPhone for over a year now, and that makes me happy(though its sitting on my bed with a dead battery at the moment) but its been quite fun having my email and Facebook around all the time. I think im going to make this post short and call it a night since im having a hard time keeping my eyes open.

Good night everyone.
